Packaging is not one product. A frozen food brand, an online seller and a beverage company each need a different material, a different thickness and a different seal. From custom plastic bags to pouches, film and shrink labels, we supply all of it from one place, printed with your own design.
Four things change from one order to the next. Get these right and the packaging does its job quietly; get them wrong and you find out at the worst possible moment, usually in transit.
The pairings below are the ones we supply most often. They are a starting point for the conversation, not a fixed menu. Every quote is built from your own numbers. If you already know the format, we have dedicated pages for plastic bag supply, ziplock bags and biodegradable film.
| Product | Common format | Thickness |
|---|---|---|
| Dry food and snacks | Stand-up pouch | 100 micron and above |
| Frozen food | Ziplock pouch | 60 to 150 micron |
| Beverages | 4 side seal, or centre seal with side fold | 60 to 150 micron |
| Household and cleaning | Centre seal with side fold, PP bottom fold | 60 to 150 micron |
| E-commerce parcels | Courier bag, LDPE | Specified to the weight you ship |
| Retail carry-out | T-shirt bag, soft loop bag | 30 micron and above |
| Bottles and containers | Shrink label | 60 to 150 micron |
Print runs up to 8 colours. Film comes in clear, white, blue, green, yellow, pink, black and grey, so a strong result is often possible with fewer colours than brands expect. A single colour on the right coloured film can read better than four colours on clear.
Seal options depend on the format: side seal, bottom seal, centre seal, centre seal with side fold, 3 side seal, 4 side seal and PP bottom fold.
OEM packaging and private label packaging both describe the same arrangement: your brand appears on the pack, and it is produced under contract rather than bought as a stock item off a shelf. That is exactly what customized plastic packaging means on this page, procurement teams simply use the OEM term for it.
In practice, you approve the artwork, we handle the print, production and delivery, and no other brand appears on the pack. If you still need to prepare the artwork itself, printing your own brand covers that step. Plastik Malaysia is a packaging supplier, not a manufacturer, and we do not own a factory. We specify the job, control the print process, manage production and deliver to you, so you have one point of contact for the whole OEM order rather than a separate factory relationship to manage on top of it.
Most packaging decisions come down to four base materials. They are not interchangeable, and the wrong one usually shows up as a pack that looks right and fails in handling. The table below is the shortest honest summary of what each one does.
| Material | Appearance | Behaviour | Commonly used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| LDPE | Translucent, soft | Stretches before it tears | Courier bags, heavier retail carry |
| HDPE | Opaque, slight crinkle | High strength at low thickness | T-shirt bags, high-volume retail |
| PP and OPP | Very clear, glossy | Crisp, less stretch | Display packaging where the product must be seen |
| Laminated film | Printable, clear or opaque | Layers add barrier | Pouches, food and beverage packaging |
The most expensive material mistake is not choosing the wrong film, it is choosing the right film at the wrong thickness. Thickness follows the weight the pack carries and how it is handled, not how large the pack looks. A large light bag can safely be thinner than a small heavy one.
These three come up in almost every first conversation. Answering them here saves you asking.
5,000 pieces per specification. Printing plates and machine setup are fixed costs, so below that the price per piece stops making sense for the buyer.
4 to 6 weeks, counted from artwork approval and deposit, not from first enquiry. Seasonal periods run longer, so festive campaigns are worth booking early.
Yes. Plain film in any of the stock colours, cut and sealed to your specification.
By the weight the pack carries and how it is handled. The specification guide explains the gauge-to-micron conversion and how to work back from weight.
Vector artwork with fonts converted to outlines. The artwork requirement page lists the formats, colour mode and bleed we need before a plate is made.
Yes. We supply businesses across Malaysia, and everything up to artwork approval can be settled online. Islands and highland areas (Genting, Cameron Highlands and similar) carry an additional delivery surcharge.
Yes. Each format and each size is quoted as its own specification because each needs its own tooling, but they can be produced and delivered together.
A bag is one format within packaging. Packaging also covers pouches that stand on a shelf, roll film that feeds a machine, and shrink labels that wrap a container. Plastik Malaysia supplies all four to businesses across Malaysia.
The logo you already use is often enough for single-colour printing. Send the file you have and we will tell you whether it can be used as is. The artwork requirement page lists the formats, colour mode and bleed needed before a plate is made.
No. What we supply is flexible packaging: bags, pouches and film, not rigid moulded containers. If a container is what you searched for, a stand-up pouch or a heat-sealed bag is usually the closer match for holding and shipping a product without the cost of rigid tooling.
Send the format, size, thickness and quantity. If you are not sure of all four, send what you have and we will work the rest out with you.
