A retort pouch is not one plastic. It is several laminated layers, each doing a different job: one withstands the heat of the process, one blocks light and oxygen, and one sits against the food and stays safe at high temperature.
That combination is what sets how long your product keeps. It is also why a retort specification cannot be guessed. It follows the food type, the fat and acid content, and the shelf life you are aiming for.
Every other product page on this site lists a micron range. This one does not, and the reason is worth stating plainly: a retort structure quoted before anyone has asked what goes inside the pouch is a guess.
A wrong retort structure does not fail on the shelf. It fails in the steriliser, after your artwork is printed and the run is paid for. Printing first and checking the specification afterwards is the most expensive way to learn this.
